All ideas are welcome. Just because the Idea doesn't make it into the product immediately does not make it a bad idea.
Currently the Landing page (Page Name: Site) is not having anything other than a row of message saying "Welcome to the Data Stewardship Platform". I am not sure about the complexity and possibility of this but this page can look interesting if you can show some of the Dashboards (like health of the DSP instance) related to the work happening in that instance of DSP or some BOA marketing links or some latest update relates updates or upcoming training and a form to register for that training etc.

There is certainly a better home page to be had. At this time each site will most likely be interested in different things, in addition there is no pipe to funnel updated information to every DSP site. Any site can make their own home page and assign it too any or all users as their Default Page ID.
We do want to make the home page better when it becomes the priority.
