Ability to flag a Data Source for maintenance

BOAUnited

Right now in DSP if you take a database offline on the DSP SQL Server DSP stops working.  This is a challenge when database work needs to be done on databases that are not actively used.

By having the ability to flag a data source as in "maintenance mode"...

     1.  We would be able to work on managing the database during the business day to get quick fixes implemented without having to take down the whole system.

     2.  We would increase the amount of time we have to perform maintenance.

     3.  Maintenance can be performed on one area while the rest of the application continues to operate and allow consultants to be functional.

I envision this as a checkbox on the vertical of a data source, by checking it DSP would stop looking to see if that data source was available when it performed actions.  Additionally, if it's something like "dswXXXTeam" then you should be prevented from either entering the relevant section of the app (can't select the related dspMigrate team) or a warning that prevents you from processing/clicking on any buttons that would drill into the database itself.

Application databases like CranSoft, DSPCommon, etc should not have the ability to be put into maintenance mode, in that case the application should be brought down.

    From I-270 - Eric Welden

Would it be possible to have a "maintenance mode" for registered Data Sources. Currently, if a database goes offline for maintenance, it effects users being able to use dspMigrate because the webSQLSys views referencing said database are not usable while it's offline. Would be nice if there was a button that said "Maintenance Mode"  on the Data Source registration, and what you clicked it, it would rebuild the webSQLSys views , excluding the database that was in "maintenance mode"

When I say webSQLSys views, i mean the following views in the Cransoft database:

    webSQLColumnSys

    webSQLObjectSys
    webSQLSys
    webSQLTableColumnSys
