Security quick fixes wanted

BOAUnited

Dear Developers

Just this week I've toyed with security in version 6.3 and I understand there are changes made in 6.4, but I can't see what they are.

The pertinent 'quick wins' I find personally (in the absence of a major redesign), which would save considerable time on projects and reduce embarrassment if a partner or customer were to administer security themselves:

1) A 'copy role' feature as with the already existing 'copy user' feature

2) Introduction description in drop down fields:

  • 'description' in the drop down when choosing a webapp group such as Map, and in that drop-down including helpful text such as: "Choose this for access to MAP, it may be helpful also include webapp XYZ"
  • 'description' in the drop down when choosing a groupID such as 'power user', and in that drop-down including helpful text such as: "power for example supports xyz but does not support abc", or "power designer includes all features of power user, and adds the dimension of efg"

3) Reorganise the Security menus such that they guide you down the ideal path. Currently they are not intuitive.

4) Role Key to allow an *ALL option, such that if I add a new object, a fairly open role would immediately include it.

5) In the users list, you can see groups assigned to the user, and it does demonstrate that those groups are derived from a role. However, you can't add a user to a role from the user menu. This could easily be fixed.

How can I be sure whether or not these changes are in the 6.4 release?

And would some changes not be applicable to 6.3 but via a hotfix approach? like an OSS note in SAP or a windows update for Windows 7?
