All ideas are welcome. Just because the Idea doesn't make it into the product immediately does not make it a bad idea.
I built a source, but then was unable to activate it because webSQLObjectSys wasn't properly updated. I was unable to find the 'trigger' that updated the view. I went to Data Source Repository and validated my datasource (dswFI), but that did not resolve. When I went to Admin/DataSources, and validated the view was rebuilt.
If the list of tables is obviously 'dirty' in that something was built, but WebSQLObjectSys hasn't yet been rebuilt, error messages or warnings should be displayed on the appropriate pages.
This was found in version 6.3.1.17502 at Spectrum Brands
